Job Purpose

To support the investment and asset management function for a specific portfolio of assets, through working with a deal execution team to conduct end to end deal origination and execution, and being actively involved in asset management activities.

Deal ExecutionWork as part of a deal execution team, and supporting end-to-end deal execution processes. This may entail:Support relevant VP or SVP in originating, and take lead in evaluating, new investment opportunities consistent with approved investment strategyLeading all operational activities related to a deal execution such as scheduling and leading meetings/calls, drafting correspondences, interfacing with prospective partners on day-to-day matters/queries, etc.Developing and presenting the investment business case internally Collaborating with cross-functional deal teams (e.g. Legal, Finance, etc…) and ensuring timelines are adhered toBuilding complex financial models and conducting financial analysisSupport relevant VP or SVP in negotiating and structuring, and take lead in the due diligence process, underwriting and valuationSupporting development of term sheets, deal structuring documentation, and deal presentation/packs

Asset ManagementAct as a day-to-day asset manager for a small-sized asset and support more senior colleagues in complex asset management activities. This may entail:Supporting business-planning activities for the asset (short-term and long-term planning) including strategy and objectives setting, annual budget development, and corporate performance measures settingReviewing and assessing business risks and ensuring major risks are elevated as requiredImplementing corporate governance framework and processesProviding operational, financial and human capital support to enable day-to-day business operationsMonitoring, tracking and reporting on operational and financial performance, and presenting these findings internallyConducting assets valuationSupporting the management team in developing asset monetization/exit strategiesRecommending performance improvement initiativesEnsure compliance with investment strategy, covenants, environmental and social safeguard requirements and recommend corrective actions as necessary. Actively monitor financial performance and actions, including divestituresReview documentation to ensure content, completeness, accuracy and relevance prior to submission of periodic progress reports, statutory and disclosure requirementsMonitor and value investments through liaising with investment asset managers, reviewing investment performance reporting and updating asset management models; perform periodic financial and operating performance analysis including periodic asset valuationsCo-ordinate / prepare internal and external portfolio communication including Investment Committee papers, asset reviews, client / fund updates and investor materialsProvide an on-going review of portfolio composition and adherence to agreed portfolio guidelinesManage and maintain data related to underlying assets

Quality CheckingEnsure the validity and reliability of all output and deliverables produced by Analysts / Senior Analysts / Associates

Relationship ManagementBuild industry networks by attending trade shows and industry events and conferences Policies, System, Processes and ProceduresRecommend improvements to functional procedures, and ensure implementation of policies, procedures, systems and controls covering the assigned areas of responsibility.Identify opportunities for the continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international leading practices’, in order to improve business processes and increase operational effectiveness.
