Join our dedicated team as a School Bus Assistant and help ensure the safe and comfortable transportation of our students. As a School Bus Assistant, you will work alongside our bus drivers to provide a secure and supportive environment for students during their daily commute. Responsibilities: Assist the bus driver in safely and efficiently transporting students to and from school and other activities. Help students board and exit the bus safely, ensuring seatbelts are fastened (if applicable). Maintain order and discipline among students while on the bus, fostering a respectful and safe environment. Assist students with disabilities as needed, including securing wheelchairs and assisting with mobility. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in proper working order. Report any maintenance or safety issues to the bus driver or transportation supervisor. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding bus routes and schedules. Ensure the bus is clean and sanitized regularly, including high-touch surfaces. Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures in the event of an incident or accident. Attend required training sessions and meetings related to bus safety and student management. Uphold the school district’s policies and guidelines for student transportation.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience working with children or in a similar role is preferred. Patience, empathy, and the ability to maintain a calm and orderly atmosphere on the bus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Dependability and punctuality. Ability to assist with the physical needs of students with disabilities. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Completion of required training and certifications for school bus assistants.
