API Engineer (Integration / Plug In Engineer / Developer) – Dubai – FinTech 

You will be working on the Web API Platform Team within the Web Tech Engineering team a part

of Technology & Operations . The Team is responsible for our clients

internet-facing Application Programming Interface (API) Management and Distribution platform.

The Team works with engineers across many businesses to realize their API distribution needs to

clients and partners over the internet. They focus on delivering a robust, secure, and reliable

platform to enable the firm to capitalize on API distribution opportunities quickly and safely.

They use several platforms and SaaS products to achieve our goals; examples include Apigee by

Google, Azure Kubernetes Service, and Okta. In addition to building and delivering a shared

platform solution, the Team focuses on empowering API Developers in providing APIs to their

clients. We establish paved paths for service and API creation for our client’s API developers

using the newest technology in the cloud-native space. They continuously deliver features that

enable clients to self-serve and use the published APIs.

Why is your role important?

As our client need to deliver APIs over the internet to partners and clients steadily increases

with new applications launching, our client needs to continue to invest in the platform solutions that

enable API distribution. You will work with a team of engineers across Europe and the US to

improve the platform to meet the current and future needs of API Distribution on the internet

for our client. By joining the growing Team in Dubai, UAE, you will fill a critical need to interact

with our internal clients and implementation partners in MEA and exposure

to a wide variety of teams and benefits from varied work challenges with a high degree of

interaction with other people across the firm. In this space, you have the chance to create an

impact by pursuing new challenges and delivering critical solutions in a collaborative

environment.

What will you be doing?

• Work on platform improvements that increase efficiency, improve security, enable

operability and monitoring, and provide a self-service solution for internal and external

developers.

• Utilizing software programming languages, including but not limited to Java, Python, and

JavaScript, to deliver improvements to the platform.

• Contribute to the improvement and streamlining of code deployment and configurations that

make up the API Platform.

• Be a reliable and collaborative representative of the Team with internal partners to

deliver APIs to the internet.

• You will learn and keep up with industry advancements in API Distribution and cloud hosting

platforms.

• Work in a culture of openness, inclusion, and proactive engagement at all levels.

Who are we looking for?

• 2+ years of experience building back-end and/or platform solutions

• Experience with software deployment and orchestration technologies such as Helm,

Docker, Kubernetes

• Worked with exposing HTTP or REST APIs and understand security

implications of distributing APIs over HTTP and to the internet

• Enjoys interacting with other engineers to find sophisticated solutions to complex

cross-organization work

• Passionate about engineering quality and takes pride in their craft as a software engineer

• You enjoy rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty when vital, and you

persevere where others do not.
